Solarbotics Solar Marble Machine Kit (weld-free version) is supported by Solarengine technology and can stay mobile even in the case of insufficient indoor light.
The Solderless Solar version of Marble Machine brings the same tick pulse movement, but no molten metal. The only tools needed to make this beautiful run are a Phillips screwdriver, some glue and a little elbow grease.
The Solarengine circuit stores light from the solar cell and releases it with occasional pulses to drive the mechanical device. In the sun, the motor will beat every few seconds, and a ball will drop every half a minute. In indoor light, the movement pulse will be reduced to every few minutes (please wait patiently). But you can always use the hand crank to push the marble wheel manually.
