The Lynxmotion T-Hex 4DOF hexapod robot kit (without electronic devices) is inspired by mechanics. The legs use offset brackets, providing additional range of motion. The four degree of freedom (DOF) leg design means the robot can walk in any direction, just like the 3DOF version. However, the fourth axis truly expands the dynamic range of the robot's range of motion. The robot is designed to use 24 HS-645 servers as legs. The combination kit includes everything needed to manufacture functional robots, except for batteries. Seeing it actually run is amazing. This mechanical inspired robot is perfect for adding weapons to your local robot competition.

Control robots
By transferring servo pulse generation and sequential motion timing to SSC-32, microcontrollers have enough capability to do some really cool things. The Phoenix program allows robots to walk at variable speeds, in any direction (translation) or rotate in place (rotation), or any combination of the two. Leg lift and travel height, as well as gait walking speed, can be adjusted. You can rotate your body on each axis. There are preset walking modes and gaits to choose from. All of these can be accessed from the controller. The Phoenix code also supports serial control mode for controlling the robot through serial connection. The programming of this robot has been completed. You no longer need to be a computer scientist to play this level of robot technology. Control options include: PS2 remote control, Xbee/DIY RC joystick radio control and TTL serial control.

Please note that this is not a toy, but an advanced leg development platform. Mechanical assembly instructions are provided. However, users must select electronic devices and program the robot. The Phoenix code (compatible with Lynxmotion BotBoarduino microcontroller+SSC-32 servo controller+PS2 remote controller) can be used by the user to decide whether it is suitable for this robot.
