This mono amplifier kit also comes with an on/off switch and a convenient status LED so you don't have to remove the battery from the cage when not in use. Thus, the battery life can be extended.
- It uses the NCP2890 audio power amplifier IC and can output 1W of power. The NCP2890 is an audio power amplifier designed for portable communication device applications such as mobile phones and PDAs. The IC also has an onboard "pop and click" function and shutdown noise protection circuitry during power on and off. As you can see from the product photo, the NCP2890 has been surface mounted soldered to the underside of the board.
- The kit comes with a pre-assembled jack cable, 8Ω 66mm speaker, and AA battery pack that can operate from 2.5 to 5.5V (6V absolute maximum). For a complete parts list, see the "In the Box" section below.
