Smarter Than Ever
We have redesigned the code to make this robot smarter in motion and improve its obstacle avoidance ability. However, this doesn't mean that the code is more difficult to read. You can still program your Insectbot using the graphical language Ardublock and spend some time adjusting it from head to toe. We warmly welcome improvisation and hacking - we hope to see more diverse Insectbots!

A Brave Heart
The core of the Insectbot is "the world's smallest Leonardo", also known as the Beetle. The core concept of the Beetle originates from minimalism without sacrificing functionality. It is equipped with Atmel AtMega32u4 (data sheet) @ 16MHz clock time and has an expanded number of interfaces: 10 digital pins, 5 analog pins, and 4 PWM pins. To further enhance user-friendliness, it is compatible with Micro USB, so direct programming and testing are no longer a headache. Select "Arduino Leonardo (Tools > Board > Arduino Leonardo, in the Arduino IDE). The ATmega32U4 comes with a pre-installed bootloader, allowing you to upload any new code applicable to the Arduino Leonardo.
