AndyMark 4-inch high-definition Mecanum wheel 3/8-inch hexagonal wheel, the left wheel is a sturdy, durable, and versatile component designed specifically for advanced robot applications. This wheel is an essential part of creating the Mecanum Drive System, which enables omnidirectional motion. The design of this wheel uses nine gray polyurethane rubber rollers with a hardness tester rating of 80A, each roller supported by a nylon core and a fixed brass tube. These rollers are sandwiched between two steel plates, which are riveted onto polycarbonate wheels to ensure durability and strength.
The internal body of the wheel is made of molded black polycarbonate, while the peripheral side panels are made of galvanized steel. This material combination enables the wheels to support a load capacity of up to 200 pounds, making them suitable for driving and air intake applications in robots. 3/8-inch hexagonal holes are directly molded into the polycarbonate center body, providing a secure fit for hexagonal shaft applications.
The unique configuration of the left and right wheels is crucial for the normal operation of the Mecanum drive system. From above, the wheels should form an "X" pattern to achieve the required mobility. This type of wheel is particularly effective in applications that require driving objects in one direction while pushing them at a certain angle, such as in robot air intakes.
Attention: These wheels have limited torque capacity and are recommended for lightweight applications such as FTC robots or non transmission FRC items.
